There are a very wide range of interesting and exciting activities available in the area. A relaxing game of golf on one of several high quality courses. An excellent range of interesting short and long distance walks or cycle routes, horse riding, fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving, sailing and a wide range of water sports, or, something a bit more extreme such as climbing, skydiving or paragliding. In winter snow sports are available close by in the Pyrenees mountains. For a wide and varied selection of activities which can be organised and pre booked please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Local and Area Attractions

Both the immediate and wider surrounding areas are rich in scenic and historical attractions. The rugged and beautiful coastline has varied selection of small, family friendly resort beaches along with more secluded, peaceful bays and spectacular but not too strenuous coastal paths. Inland there are lots of well preserved medieval towns, villages and hamlets each with their own character and attractions linked by a well marked network of local footpaths and cycle tracks. There are several National Parks including the wild and beautiful Cap de Creus where Salvador Dali lived and was inspired throughout his life. Again contact us for more information or use the above websites.

Museums, Cultural Venues and Events

The area was originally 'discovered' in the early 20th century by artists and writers attracted by the wild and rugged beauty of the area. It has a wealth of local and international museums and galleries from the well preserved Greek and Roman ruins in Empuries near L'Escala to the Dali 'triangle' of museums/galleries centred on Figueres. (see www.salvador-dali.org/en_index.html). The gardens at Cap Roig, Calella de Palafrugell host a series of international music concerts in July and August along with numerous local and village events and festivals throughout the year.

Restaurants

The area offers a very wide range of local and international standard restaurants. Two of the world's best restaurants, El Bulli in Roses and El Cellar de Can Roca in Girona are close by and this has led to the development of a high quality gastronomic culture in the area. Add to this a wealth of excellent traditional and especially seafood restaurants, really fresh high quality local produce and the area has become a genuine 'foodies' paradise. Following website shows examples: www.turismedecatalunya.com/gastronomia/index.asp and we can give our own independent recommendations.
